I am not what happens to me, I am who I choose to become.
– Carl Jung
Life doesn’t always go the way we expect it to. Sometimes life circumstances can leave us feeling isolated and alone; unable to get a handle on things; and feeling like everything is spiraling out of control. Through counselling, you can take charge of your life, again.
Counselling is healthy and normal!
We turn to our friends for guidance and support when we are struggling – but often they lack the skills to be able to help. As a counsellor, I am specially trained to help you identify issues impacting your life and find creative and unique ways to address them.
It can be really daunting to come to counselling, but you will find that I am open minded and non-judgemental. I am empathic and clients say that I ‘really get them’. I work with YOU to figure out the best way to work with the issues you bring to session; and can draw on over 10-years of working with and supporting people to help shape my work.
I have been working with young people since 2005 in a range of educational and therapeutic settings and have developed the specialist skills needed to help adolescents with their concerns. I have also specialised in the treatment of trauma from sexual violence.
I am a person-centered counsellor – this means YOU are in charge of the process, and I walk alongside you throughout your healing journey.
I practice from an eclectic model with narrative base, I can draw on a range of different modalities to support my work. You can find out some more about these on my website.
As a skilled musician I can offer rhythm therapy utilising the primal beats of drumming to help integrate trauma and help people articulate what they cannot say.
I also use energy therapy to help integrate trauma.
I have been supporting people on their healing journey since 2005.
I have worked as an online facilitator and forum moderator for a number of support forums. I also worked across a range of Auckland schools delivering education and counselling for sexual violence.
As a first generation Eurasian, I value culture and see the world through a cultural lens. I use my own experience of culture to remain open-minded and supportive of clients from all walks of life.
