I thoroughly enjoy working with people! I have spent the last 18 years supporting people from every walk of life. I have worked counselling people in various places, such as in high schools, prison’s, counselling offices, hospitals, tertiary institutes and more. I absolutely love working with people and supporting them to make positive dramatic change, talking through every type of issue a person may have.
Contacting a counsellor can often be a daunting task! So I applaud you for looking on this website, and trying to find some extra help. I am eager to hear whatever is going on for you, and I will look for the different strengths and resources that you already have to help you find a way forward. I use a variety of different counselling approaches to best fit your personality and the issues you bring.
What people have said about their experience seeing me for counselling:
“Your approach and skills allowed me to look at my past objectively and find solutions/strengths that weren’t unrealistic to make changes that help me be more authentic and present with my kids and employers.”
“You listened to me without judging and gave me resources and hope for my future. I learned to appreciate myself as a person and value myself more. For the future you empowered me to make some better choices for my mental health.”
I am passionate about supporting people to grow in their work, and also in themselves. I believe that supervision should be an enjoyable process, with the benefits of an authentic supervisory relationship, that includes doses of humour and buckets full of empathy.
I come from a strength based model, with the belief that when we focus on what a person is strong in, and build on that, then a person is able to flourish into the best version of themselves both personally and professionally. This increasing a person’s overall confidence and enjoyment of life and work.
Within supervision, I work exploring the topic that a person brings, helping a person to find their own answers. Depending on a persons personality, I facilitated this in either an organic way, or in a structured framework.
I have a wealth of experience in working with a wide range of people and issues, as well as managing mental health and physical risks, and can use this to support the conversation when appropriate.
