Counselling and Supervision

I currently have no availability but you’re welcome to go on my wait-list.

I love my work! I’m passionate about our capacity as people to grow, learn, change and live the best life we can.

Allowing yourself time to attend regular counselling sessions may improve your well-being in many ways. Receiving the undivided non-judgemental attention of a skilled experienced counsellor can result in you feeling seen and heard in ways that you may not have experienced before. This can have such a ripple effect on your life. (Please note that ACC prefer ACC Sensitve Claims counselling to be provided by a counsellor who lives in your region which for me is the West Coast). Requests for on-line counselling are welcome.

Counselling can help you:

  • Manage and recover from the impact of truama.
  • Cope with ‘normal’ life challenges and transitons e.g. relationships; work
  • Cope with loss in your life e.g. family; friend;  your home, job or income; your health
  • Find a way through loneliness and connecting with others

Counselling has the most impact if you ‘do the work’ in, and in between, counselling sessions. ‘The work’ involves using counselling to make sense of what’s happening for you, then, with help, making and maintaining changes in your everyday life.

My Counselling Experience

I’ve a wide range of work experience.  Prior long-term positions of employment include: Private Practice in Counselling and Supervision; Teaching Tertiary-Level Counselling and Supervision; Guidance Counsellor on senior management team; Care and Protection Social Worker; and voluntary trustee in NGO agency working with marginalised people.

Q Supervision Services

- I provide supervision online for professionals throughout Aotearoa NZ.

- Supervisees are drawn to my background in counselling, social work, management and teaching in counselling and supervision. I mostly supervise counsellors but welcome and enjoy working with practitioners from other disciplines.

- I value forming collaborative relationships wherein supervisees feel safe to explore both their strengths and vulnerabilities. I believe in supervision being restorative, and involving learning and accountability. I see the main aim of supervision being that end-users are provided with safe and professional help. I work with a wide range of issues and draw on many theoretical approaches. I welcome a conversation with you to elaborate on these.
