I am a degree-qualified counsellor, operating in Auckland Central, married with grown-up children. I serve as the School Counsellor for a full primary school (years 1-8) in the Onehunga/Penrose area and also run a private practice for adults. My therapeutic approaches include Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and creative arts.
From time to time, we all encounter experiences, situations, or choices that feel overwhelming and cause us to struggle. Having an impartial and confidential chat with a qualified professional can be incredibly helpful. However, the responsibilities of life often make it difficult to find the time for traditional counselling sessions. This is where my concept of The Confidential Coffee Cup Counsellor comes in …
I offer the flexibility to meet you in a setting of your choice and at a time that suits you: $45 plus coffee for a 45-minute session between 7.30 am and 5.30 pm. Despite the informal setting, I adhere to the NZAC Code of Ethics, ensuring strict confidentiality. Your comfort and safety are paramount, so if at any time either you or I feel that the setting is not working, then we will switch venues.
Of course, if you will want to meet in a formal counselling space, then I can pre-book us a room in a shared practice, and the cost will rise to $90 for a “professional hour” after 8.30 am.
As a counsellor, I cannot tell you what to do or make decisions for you, but I can use my skills to help you find your way to leading life the way you want to.
