Kirsten Jongsma

Counsellor

Kia Ora…

I am Kirsten (she/her) and I am passionate about supporting you in the nuanced difficulties you may be facing in your life. At times it can feel difficult to know how to ask for help, and to tune into what might actually feel helpful for you individually.

My Approach

I endeavour to work with my clients in ways which feel meaningful for them, working to understand what it is that they’re seeking support for as well as exploring their unique inner desires, wants, and means of fulfilment.

I love working with individuals who have a desire to understand themselves deeper and feel more connected to themselves. Most important to me is to create a safe space where my clients feel as though they can share anything without fear of judgement.

It is my greatest honour to listen, get to hear your stories, and to be along side you in the therapy space to explore your difficulties, hopes, dreams, barriers and desires together.

I work with adults experiencing various difficulties such as anxiety, grief and loss, and relationship difficulties.

I offer online sessions, however if you are seeking in person sessions please reach out as I can at times do in person sessions in the Remuera/Newmarket, Auckland area.

I consider myself a relational, pluralistic, person-centred counsellor. Some of the counselling approaches I draw upon in my therapeutic encounters are Narrative Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

If you are experiencing a difficult time and/or seek to explore yourself deeper, both internally and relationally, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am really happy to speak with you and to explore whether I might be the right fit for you in your counselling journey. I bring my heart into my work and feel grateful to get to sit alongside the individuals who so bravely share their stories, vulnerabilities, and worlds with me.
