Integrate Wellbeing Therapy

My name is Kat and I am a counsellor based in the peaceful Waitakere, Auckland.

I have an interest in creative therapies, somatic therapy, as well as Person-centered and Dialectical behavioural therapies. I work through a trauma-informed lens to address symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression/low mood, sexual harm, and management of chronic illnesses. Together we can find the best way forward for you.

I have experience with people of all ages, genders, sexualities and those with neurodiversities, and I pride myself on being gentle and understanding in my approach. At this time I am open to working with both teens and adults online and in person.

Having faced ME/CFS and chronic illness myself, I know how important it is to offer accessible therapy where we work together to build a supportive environment to reach our goals and live fulfilling lives alongside our challenges. Please do reach out if you have any limitations, I can offer flexible session times, shorter sessions and lower fees to suit your needs.

Q What is Somatic Therapy?

Somatic therapy is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on the connection between the body and mind. It acknowledges that emotional and psychological trauma can be stored in the body, often showing up as physical tension or discomfort. Using techniques such as breathwork, movement, touch, and mindfulness, somatic therapy helps individuals become more aware of their bodily sensations and release trapped emotions. The aim is to heal trauma, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being by integrating both mental and physical processes.

Q Which creative processes do you use?

Anything from clay work, collage, movement (dance) and paint to drawing modalities like Interactive Drawing Therapy (IDT).

There is often time for pause and reflection throughout and at the end of the session. Creative therapies give you the time to integrate and work with feeling/emotion/memories in a gentle way.
