About Us

Empowerment Psychology is a growing private practice clinic in Auckland CBD dedicated to providing neurodiverse affirming care. We specialize in assessment and therapy for clients with ADHD and autism, serving both children and adults, as well as individuals dealing with trauma. Our mission is to empower our clients through compassionate and effective psychological services. We have established strong connections with private pediatricians and psychiatrist clinics, enabling us to provide comprehensive multidisciplinary care for our clients.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Clinical Psychologist (contracting role) to join our team in Auckland CBD.

This hybrid role offers flexibility, allowing you to work both in-person and remotely, or fully remotely.

The ideal candidate will be independent, conscientious, and eager to learn, particularly in the areas of ADHD and autism assessments. Training and experience in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) or a willingness to pursue training in EMDR is also highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evidence-based assessments for ADHD and autism, including writing comprehensive reports.
  • Provide therapy for children and adults with ADHD, autism, and trauma-related issues.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including private pediatricians and psychiatrists, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in neurodiverse affirming care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, including training in EMDR if not already certified.
  • Foster a supportive and empowering environment for clients and their families.

Essential:

  • A valid registration as a Clinical Psychologist in New Zealand.

Ideal candidate:

  • Experience with ADHD and autism assessments is a bonus but not required.
  • Interest in EMDR and a willingness to pursue training in this area.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including children and adults.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
