Life can be challenging. At times, we can feel confused, overwhelmed, lost, anxious, depressed, lonely – other times we might experience something painful and unexpected that really throws us off balance. Whether it’s for a short time or a long time, it can be profoundly helpful to have someone empathic, curious and honest to talk to about what you are experiencing.
I provide relational psychotherapy to individuals. I work predominantly with younger adults (18 – to early 30’s) in building supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationships. I help people deepen self-understanding and discover new and more fulfilling ways of being themselves in the world.
Significant research suggests the quality of our relationships is the most powerful determinant of overall emotional well-being. As social beings, who we become and how we perceive the world is largely determined by our relational experiences, needs and interpretations. Relational psychotherapy offers an opportunity to explore the impact relationships have had on you and how this may influence your present distress.
The therapeutic relationship also serves as a meaningful human connection, where you can access empathy, curiosity and honesty. Often, what you are struggling with in relationships outside of therapy will in some way be revealed through the therapeutic relationship, offering you an opportunity to work through difficulties in a safe and empathic connection. Over time, the therapeutic relationship can help you build more relationship security, and find new and more authentic ways of being yourself with another. It is an unstructured therapy, we talk and respond to what is needed.

I'm from Aotearoa New Zealand and spent a significant period of time backpacking all around the world, and living overseas. I currently work for an organisation providing psychotherapy to survivors of sexual violence.
I have experience at Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai, with clients experiencing complex mental health concerns in individual and group settings, and provided therapy to young adults at AUT Integrated Health. I have also worked in financial hardship, crisis counselling, and various roles in a global (non-religious) spiritual personal development organisation.
