Hello! I offer depth psychology and art psychotherapy sessions with Jungian analysis as a framework. Please visit my website for more details or contact me to have a chat about how we may work together.
I’m an experienced art therapist who has worked in different countries and in a variety of settings. I have found art to be an effective medium with my clients, especially when working pre and non-verbally. So many of our thoughts and emotions we struggle to put into words. Through the process of art-making and triangulation, clients are able to recognise their unconscious communication and behaviour in a non-threatening way. Art can also be a way of recording clients’ progress throughout therapy and this evidence can be useful for both clients and therapist.
Sometimes we don’t quite know what motivates our behaviours despite our best attempts at making sense of them. Or we may find ourselves in a space where nothing makes sense. Depth psychology can be very useful in bringing light to these unconscious contents, through dreamwork, metaphors, artistic expressions and the therapeutic relationship.
My initial training is in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I’m also currently a trainee enrolled in the ANZSJA Analyst Training Programme. With individuation as a goal, I believe in guiding clients to achieve their potential by exploring and weaving together the different parts of themselves to create a cohesive balanced whole.
I have worked in both Singapore and New Zealand as an art therapist. In Singapore, my first job was with the Institute of Mental Health in the Dangerous and Violent ward within forensic mental health. I then worked for The Red Pencil, a humanitarian NGO, offering art psychotherapy to clients with sexual and physical abuse, war zone PTSD, poverty, suicide prevention, conduct disorder and family members with incarcerated loved ones. In New Zealand, I worked for the Department of Corrections, helping clients understand themselves better so they can move on to a better life.
I offer a confidential space for practitioners to explore and discuss their cases.
