Towards the life you really want.

We will work together to identify the problems that are messing with your life and how they might be overcome to get you closer to the life you really want.

Counselling Services

Having survived through my own dark tunnel I am passionate about supporting others struggling to survive. While my approach is influenced by ideas of social justice, feminism and holistic health, my focus with you will be to uphold and strengthen the values you bring, which will support you in getting closer to the life you really want.

LGBTQIA-friendly, Poly-friendly, Infant-friendly, Culturally friendly.

Counselling Approach

Narrative therapy is non-judgmental and non-pathologising. It views problems as something external that is happening to you, rather than an internal deficit of yours. For example in exploring anxiety I might ask ‘Where did it come from? How is it messing with you? What sneaky things have you done to try and stop it in its tracks? How are societies big ideas of how you should be in the world giving this anxiety more power than it should have?’ This way of thinking frees us to be able to create more options for what you can do differently.

I also use practices and skills from:

  • The Developmental Model for Couples (combines attachment, neuroscience and differentiation theory)
  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
