I am an experienced clinical psychologist and supervisor and use a collaborative and evidence based approach in therapy. My work is informed by attachment theory, family systems, mindfulness and cognitive behavioural principles.

Counselling/Therapy Services

I offer short term and long term therapy depending on the needs of the client. My aim is to help you increase your self-awareness, skills and ability to manage every day stressors and significant life challenges. The therapies on offer will draw on a variety of evidence based approaches including mindfulness, interpersonal and attachment approaches as well as cognitive behavioural therapy. I tailor my approach to suit and respect the uniqueness of each client.

My practice is also a LGBTTIQ+ affirmative practice that offers therapy to clients who identify as diverse in gender, sex and sexuality in a safe and inclusive environment.

Background and Experience

I am a registered counselling and clinical psychologist with 20+ years’ experience. I have a doctorate in psychology from the University of Pretoria, South Africa and have worked with individuals, couples, families and groups in the private and public sectors for the last 25 years. I use a collaborative and relational approach in therapy, based on attachment, systems and cognitive behavioral principles.

I am a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society and registered with the NZ Psychologists Board and have presented and published in the area of LGBTIQ+ wellbeing, ethical practice, stress and resilience as well as anorexia nervosa.

 

Supervision Services

I provide clinical supervision to registered clinical and counselling psychologists, drawing on 20 years of clinical experience in private and public sector services. I also provide family therapy supervision.
