Assessments for Autism & ADHD
Many people living with Autism or ADHD can struggle in the neurotypical world. And, if you have reached adulthood without a formal diagnosis, you might find maintaining a job, career, or social relationships a challenge. At any age, getting appropriate help and support for your particular needs can be life changing. And the first step for accessing that support is a professional assessment.
If you suspect you are living with a neurodivergent brain, I look forward to meeting you on your first step to access the support that will help you live well with your unique talents and challenges.
I have conducted assessments for neurodivergent people over the entirety of my career. It has taught be that there is absolutely no “one size fits all,” when it comes to neurodivergence. I know how hard it can be to reach out for the first time. Maybe you’ve been putting it off for years. I can promise a relaxed, supportive dynamic with me throughout this process.
I have 20 years experience working in a variety of clinical settings. I have written 21 books on a variety of topics related to clinical psychology, the psychology of humour, and the hero’s journey in modern life. Most recently, I have been a clinical lead and psychologist in Australia for the past two years. I have worked in 4 countries as a clinical psychologist, giving me what I hope is a unique cultural perspective.
As a former comedian, I strive to help people find the lighter side of life, even in their darkest hours. Although we are confronted by many challenges, I strive to help people use humor in coping with their emotional choices. I’m a strong advocate for my clients, and will always be on your side, as you move forward in life following your assessment.
My approach is supportive and warm. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and Existential and Humanistic psychology.
