Dr Lizzy Harris

Therapy for meaningful change

Kia ora, my name is Lizzy and I am a clinical psychologist with training and experience across the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. I work together with people to help them make sense of their experiences and live a meaningful life.

I can support with:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • History of trauma
  • PTSD
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Stress
  • Head Injury
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Adjustment issues
  • Coping strategies
  • General well-being
  • Self empowerment

In my work, I incorporate exploring and processing how the past has shaped your current experiences, with helping you find ways to cope and move towards the life you want to live. Everyone has their own inner strengths, values and resources to help them overcome their difficulties, and I aim to build on these strengths to help you live a meaningful life.

I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Schema Therapy. I adapt the approach I use based on your individual needs.

Creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences is important to me. I understand that reaching out for support can be a big step, and I deeply respect the strength and courage it takes. I will walk alongside you in this journey and believe it is important to take it at your pace, in a way you feel most comfortable.
