This workshop is a comprehensive online event designed for those supporting victims of family harm, as well as those working with perpetrators. The workshop aims to provide participants with an understanding of family harm, its prevalence and the latest trends, while fostering a collaborative approach to support victims and work with offenders.
From the perspective of a Solution Focused Approach, the session begins by setting the stage for a day of insightful discussions and learning.
Participants will explore their perceptions of family harm, by reflecting on personal views and experiences, then explore some of the drivers of family harm, gaining insights into the complex dynamics that contribute to such situations. The workshop will cover essential topics such as supporting victims, working with offenders, and addressing child-to-parent abuse, providing practical strategies and tools for effective intervention and support.
In addition to addressing the immediate needs of those affected by family harm, the workshop emphasises the importance of connection and empathy, while promoting self-care and wellbeing for professionals.
Through case scenarios, participants will engage in group work to apply their knowledge and skills, finishing with a discussion and Q&A session to address any remaining questions and share insights.
This workshop promises to be a thought-provoking session, challenging assumptions and building confidence for those professionals dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those experiencing family harm.
