“Shame dies when stories are told in safe places”
— Ann Voskamp
As an experienced counsellor, I offer a compassionate and supportive space where you can explore what matters most to you. I draw on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to your unique goals. My role is to walk alongside you—offering insight, support, and practical tools—as you move toward meaningful change, always guided by your values, culture, and personal strengths.
I am committed to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi. My practice is a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds, and I offer inclusive, affirming care. I work respectfully with neurodiverse individuals, people of colour, and LGBTQ+ communities.
I draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support each person in a way that feels right for them. These include Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) as well as body-based therapeutic approaches like movement psychotherapy, somatic movement (Hanna school), yoga, and mindfulness.
My approach is also shaped by a deep respect for decolonial perspectives, social justice, and the power of radical self-care. These values guide how I show up in the therapy space—with care, curiosity, and a commitment to honouring your full humanity.
With over 20 years of experience in the community and mental health sectors, I bring a combination of academic knowledge, compassion, and cultural awareness to my counselling practice. My professional journey has included roles in both clinical and community-based settings—supporting individuals through helplines, one-on-one therapy, and group facilitation. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside adolescents, adults, and families across a range of services, always guided by trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches.
Alongside my private practice, I’ve held leadership and governance roles in the non-profit sector, including co-founding and chairing a community arts organization. Whether through counselling, education, or organizational leadership, my focus has always been on creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported as they navigate change in alignment with their values and culture.
I am committed to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi. My practice is a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds, and I offer inclusive, affirming care. I work respectfully with neurodiverse individuals, people of colour, and LGBTQ+ communities.
