Life can provide many challenges, which may prevent us from living our lives to the full. Psychotherapy provides a way of exploring underlying thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and their origins, particularly where they adversely impact our day to day lives and many of which may be unconscious. Behaviours that may have once served us well, may now be hindering our lives and relationships in the present.
By understanding ourselves more fully, we can enrich our lives and relationships. Psychotherapy is a gift to ourselves.
I am trained in psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy. I offer a welcoming and confidential environment in which to develop a therapeutic relationship with my clients. I always think of the therapy room as a sacred space, offering a sense of escape and confidentiality, where, as our therapeutic relationship develops, you are able to talk openly and honestly about your challenges. Through collaboration we can work towards understanding these processes, how they are experienced in our mind and body, and to develop ways to address these challenging emotions, thoughts and beliefs.
The relationship between the therapist and client is at the core of successful therapy. I welcome you for an initial three sessions to meet and decide if I am the right therapist for you and if I, as a therapist, are able to meet your needs.
My experience includes working with Lifeline Aotearoa and Victim Support.
