Psychotherapy and Counselling

Life can feel overwhelming at times and talking with an experienced psychotherapist can help you to feel heard and understood.  I work to build a safe relationship in which we can compassionately explore what brought you to therapy.  The therapy process also increases self-awareness, self-acceptance, and genuine self-esteem.

How I can help:

If you are experiencing any of the following, I can help:

  • grief and loss
  • depression
  • anxiety and overwhelm
  • work challenges and career changes
  • life transitions
  • difficulty asserting yourself
  • loneliness
  • feeling inadequate or stuck
  • trauma
  • relationship difficulties (professional and personal)

I work with adult individuals (20+) of varied backgrounds and cultures.

Professional Supervision

I offer reflective practice/supervision for professionals wanting ongoing confidential support. Professional reflective practice can help to:

  • improve/maintain wellbeing at work
  • increase awareness of self, others, and group/organisation dynamics
  • gain confidence solving problems/critical thinking
  • improve workplace relationships
  • enhance leadership skills

In addition to my therapeutic listening skills, I bring to professional supervision my coaching, facilitation and leadership development skills and experience from my first career.

FAQs

Q Background and Experience

- I have been working as a psychotherapist and counsellor in private practice for over ten years. I primarily work with people wanting/needing a long term stable psychotherapy relationship to bring about sustained therapeutic growth. I also see people for short-term counselling navigating 'bumps in the road' of life.

- My first career was in Organisational Capability and Development, and many of the skills developed and knowledge I gained, are useful in my work as a therapist. I changed careers because my curiosity and my own inner struggles propelled me to delve deeper into the human psyche (and because I love learning!). After training in a variety of therapeutic approaches, I was drawn to train in psychodynamic psychotherapy - a relational depth process that enables lasting positive change.
