Jo Knight

Counsellor/Therapist

My approach to counselling centres around you being the expert in your journey but understanding that sometimes we need some help seeing the pieces and putting them together.

I provide a space that is rich in warmth, compassion, and acceptance to allow clients to process their experiences in a safe space and work towards healing. I approach each session with empathy, gentle humour, and humility.

I consider it a privilege and honour to walk with my clients on their journey through some of their darkest and most vulnerable times. I hope to help you towards having a grounded sense of self and to live a life more intentionally and freely by helping you move from feeling stuck with negative & painful emotions and unhelpful coping strategies.

My foundational theory is Person-Centred Counselling, and I am also influenced by Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems and Gestalt including empty chair and inner child work.

I understand the importance of finding a counsellor that feel comfortable and secure enough with to be vulnerable and feel understood so I offer the first session free. This helps you to see if we are good fit to work together.
