I believe in providing a warm and safe environment for clients, where they feel safe to start their journey of psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy is a deeply personal journey. This journey is unique to each individual, where the journey may begin with seeking purpose in the person’s life or seeking to make meaning of life and its mysteries. It may involve seeking relief from emotional pain and suffering or unbearable feelings. It might also consist of confronting shadows from your past or healing from a traumatic past event.
I see my work as a psychotherapist as accompanying you on your journey together, where I hope to support you in finding growth, balance, and a sense of harmony and peace. In addition, I offer supervision and K9-assisted therapy.
I trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy so am interested in the ways that our early relationships impact our lives. Through exploring your relational patterns, we can begin to understand your ongoing actions and emotions. Within the safety of the therapeutic relationship we can then consider new ways of being that allow you to be happy and healthy in your relationships.
I have trained and worked in a therapeutic community that specializes in drug and alcohol addiction for the past 3 years. I have also work at the AUT clinic seeing clients for the past 3 years and have now opened my own private practice.
My Masters Thesis was on the topic The Bridge between Winnicott and Virtual Reality.
