I can help to get you sorted. I provide clients with tools and strategies that encourage confidence so you can move forward with life long skills.
Clients say they feel comfortable with me and able to open up quite easily about what brings them to counselling. You will find me actively involved in your counselling (there won’t be awkward silences!) and focused on your goals and how to get you to where you want to be. Clients find they gain a refreshed view on their life, and feel buoyant and energized to pursue new directions.
“I got very depressed after my separation. Kerry helped me discover forgotten things about myself, my self esteem recovered and I felt empowered to move on with my new life.”
I connect well with teenagers and have a strong interest in their world. Most adolescents find me easy to talk. I am skilled at helping them to get clarity around the issues that are confusing them and develop better ways of managing relationships with their families and peers. I provide them with ways to problem solve and develop skills they can use outside the counselling room.
My approach is focused on your needs and the outcomes you want to achieve from your counselling. Initially I build rapport and trust in a supportive and focused environment. I provide tools and strategies that promote mindfulness, commitment and confidence in the counselling process. I facilitate strategies that foster and strengthen life skills to enable my clients to make meaningful choices for themselves.
Depending on your individual style and circumstances I will use a variety of counselling methods, including:
I am a local Warkworth resident of 19 years. I am an ever grateful Mum to 17 year old twins. I consider my varied and diverse life experiences: loss and grief, solo parenting, financial challenges, working and studying; a vital part of being able to relate to other people and empathise with the challenges they face.
I have worked as a counsellor in two local health agencies helping people of all age ranges and a variety of backgrounds deal with issues such as depression, isolation, loss of independence, separation, communication, anxiety, grief. I have also facilitated workshops for carers of stroke survivors. I am now available in private practice Warkworth.
