Holistic Therapeutic Care

Therapeutic care that takes care of our whole selves – our mind, emotions, body and spirit.

It’s important we find safe and connected ways to settle and calm, especially when we are in survival mode with ongoing stress and overwhelm. Our environments at work, or at home, or with friends, can sometimes challenge us in many ways. When we share, learn, and reposition ourselves, these situations can change too so that we can take ourselves out of survival and into living well and thriving.

I provide counselling, mentoring, and energy and consciousness-based healing from my home clinic that has a big sliding door with beautiful private space looking onto trees and very close to ‘the healing waters’ of Waiake.

A little about the therapies I use:

Narrative Therapy (counselling) creates precious space to discover more about ourselves: our strengths and values, belief systems, and identification of external power dynamics in our world. This gives us the power to re-position ourselves in relation to the problem, developing a deeper sense of empowerment with more opportunities becoming visible and accessible.

Appreciative Inquiry offers a mentoring/coaching process that resources us in particular areas we want to develop ourselves in. It is strength-based and future-focused.

Energy and Consciousness-Based Healing with Reiki and/or Mindscape (Body Talk) Intuitive Readings. This is gentle, deep, and powerful holistic work that supports the body/emotions/mind/spirit beyond our conscious thinking. These approaches help to calm and relax the body, and may help dismantle patterns like intergenerational trauma, or the ‘fear/stress’ loop that our body/mind may find itself caught up in.

We can do any one, or any mix, of these modalities as they are needed.

Want to work with me to create the change you want to see? Here is a little more about me:

I have been practicing Reiki for over 30 years. I first discovered Reiki when I experienced the many challenges from a serious car accident together with the stress in my work life at the time. Reiki made the biggest difference then and throughout my life.

I became a Narrative Therapist with another life and career change in 2010. I love it because it is strength-based, creatively making space for us to approach our situations with new perspectives and awareness, without labels.

In 2024, I developed the We Empower Us youth wellbeing community activation project using Appreciative Inquiry. I developed Youth Focus Groups in 3 schools to: gain a collective youth voice on their top priority for youth wellbeing; invited 30 community organisations and 6 community networks to wrap around that priority in a Summit to collaborate and activate that priority cohesively; and supported the 6 projects that came out of the Summit with the community networks.

I am a parent of young adults and I have experienced the challenging teen years too. I have published and won a Bold Innovators Scholarship for my Masters research, Creating Appreciation and Community Support for Mothers Caring for a Child with Anxiety Disorder.

I have been working with youth for most of my life (teaching sexual assault prevention, teaching environmental education & outdoor recreation, teaching learning disabled, mentoring student leadership teams to pro-socially address bullying and online harm, mentor young people with brain injury and anxiety, and counselling & Reiki).
