I am a registered counsellor originally from Johannesburg, South Africa. I have 12 years of counselling experience. I immigrated to New Zealand in 2020 with my family. I love spending time with my family. I also have a deep love for art, gardening and dance and use this as a platform for self-expression, creativity and self-nurturance.
I believe my role as a counsellor is to work in collaboration with my clients towards a journey of self-enlightenment and personal growth. I offer an empathetic, supportive and non-judgmental space.
Counselling can be a helpful tool to learn more helpful and healthier ways to manage stressful life situations. Counselling provides an opportunity to observe, reflect and identify any unhelpful or unhealthy ways of thinking and behaving and with this the opportunity for growth into more helpful and healthier ways of being.
I use a person-centred approach to counselling where I incorporate different counselling techniques such as; CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Attachment, Development model and Solution-focused counselling in order to best support my clients.
