Loss & Grief Centre Kapiti

He Waka Eke Noa – Journeying Together

Loss and Grief is something we all experience in our lives and at times we need support to navigate our way through it.

We provide support through counselling, groups and companioning to individuals, families, and communities who are grappling with the impact of loss and grief!

We provide:

  • COUNSELLING: conversations with qualified counsellors to make sense of, find a way through, and restore identity in relation to who or what you have lost.
  • SUPPORT GROUPS: join us to develop an awareness about the process of grieving and connect with others who are also on a similar journey.
  • COMPANIONING: with a trained volunteer that will journey with you as you navigate your way after the loss of your loved one.

I see it as a privilege to support and journey alongside people, offering hope as they grapple with the challenges in life. You can expect to feel valued, respected and heard in sessions with me without judgement. I work with ACC sensitive claim clients, families that are with the Child Cancer Foundation and clients who are grappling with the many forms of loss, grief and trauma that living in this world can bring. I also have experience working with adults and youth from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds.

Q Letitia Geldenhuys - Counsellor

Welcome to a journey of healing, self-discovery, and support. My aim is to support you to heal through difficulty and live a meaningful life with confidence. I believe that no matter what situations come our way, we all have an inner strength to carry us through. I will endeavour to listen, hear and understand you in a safe, caring and loving environment with the knowledge that you are the expert of your life. I also believe that we need to treat our healing holistically and have all areas of ourselves in alignment for optimal living.

As a wife, mother and daughter, I know the many hats we wear to care for others, yet we at times forget to care for ourselves. Making the decision to start a counselling journey is a courageous step towards self-care, I look forward to supporting you on your healing journey.
