When you feel lost or have come to a stand still,
Speaking from your Heart, from that deep place where your real self lies,
can shine a light giving you clarity to see the way forward.
I will walk beside you in this place until you reach your desired destination.
I bring a wealth of life experience and professional training, to help you through your difficulties. In the counselling session you can talk about and explore any problems you are experiencing that impact you in a negative way. I will listen, hear you and assist you to gain clarity on the specific issues you bring along. I will support you in a process to explore and understand your needs or what you want to change and ‘how’ you may make those positive changes that you choose.
I can help you to identify your own personal resources and capabilities, which are sometimes lost or buried in times of confusion and anxiety. During a difficult issue or crisis, you will be empowered to not only cope but to do so in a way that produces learning for the future, so you can feel more in charge of your life.
At all times I will provide you with a caring, non-judgmental, safe and confidential environment to work through the counselling process. I do not make your decisions for you, you do. No opinions or judgements will be imposed upon you and throughout this process, you will be respected, encouraged and supported.
I work from a Person Centered approach, which means that each client is treated as a unique individual. Counselling methods that I draw from in my practice are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution Focussed Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Behaviour Therapy. I draw from a combination of methods that best suits you and your needs.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked for 25 years in banking & finance, sales & marketing and office management roles. Then whilst making a career transition worked in mental health as a support worker whilst I was studying for my counselling qualifications. I had always had a curiosity and passion for emotional wellness which may in part be due to my own life experiences. Empowering you to make positive changes, empowers me to do the work that I love to do!
