Counselling is a space for you, a safe confidential place where you can talk about issues, where you can talk about thoughts, feelings, emotions. Where you can both explore hopes and dreams and those parts that you struggle with. Where we work together to develop new meanings and new stories.
I provide a warm empathetic non-judgemental space for my clients. I work with clients through their problems, and explore their needs and perspectives. I am aware that each client is different and individual, and because of that I work alongside the you to explore the best ways forward for you.
I am very client centred in my counselling, within this I will use different ways of working with you, these can include Narrative Therapy, ACT, Solution Focused therapy, mindfulness and grounding techniques and Motivational Interviewing.
I am a Provisional Member Registered with NZAC. I have a Bachelor of Counselling from Weltec The past two years I have worked with clients through a range of issues, in particular, trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, stress and life change.
I have an interest in working cross-culturally and a strong interest in working with those who are neurodiverse. I am an ADHDer, Dyslexic and Dyspraxic and I parent a child who has ADHD and ASD. I understand through my life experiences the challenges and rewards parenting those with neurodiversity can bring and have navigated numerous challenging issues that these bring.
