ONE WILD & PRECIOUS LIFE RETREAT 2024: Creative and Spiritual Recovery weekend

Rest, Play and Grow - retreat for women

A weekend of connection, interwoven with spiritual and creative renewal. Rich Relationships, Rich Reflection and Rich Resources for Rest and Play.

The theme of this retreat is Rest, Play, Grow.It is designed for women as a time of recovery and reflection. We often care a burden of care and for those of us who are in the helping professions, who are feeling compassion-fatigue or near burnout, we need safe places to process and be replenished. This retreat will be carefully curated with content as well as ‘free space’ for creative and spiritual recovery.

Our sessions will be focused on the need for rest and play for resilience. Here are the session titles:

  1. Rest in Right Relationships: Recovering a sense of Connection (through an attachment theory lens).
  2. Play as activated rest: the neuroscience behind play and creativity. Introducing Neurographic exercises and other creative outlets to restore our souls and reboot our nervous system.
  3. Circle of Trust: engaging in a Courage and Renewal exercise with a poem and a creative exercise to reflect on our lives and emerging areas of growth.
  4. Interconnectedness and Awe: the new science of awe and the healing benefits of nature. Engagement with nature in the grounds of Monte Cecilia Park and the nearby art gallery on Pah Homestead. Pah Homestead – Wikipedia

During the retreat there will be plenty of ‘free time’ and chances for Rest and Play as well as high quality input during the sessions. There will be space to go on your own Artist Date; there is a lovely coffee shop at the Pah Hometead as well as the largest collection of New Zealand Art in the gallery and beautiful grounds to do your own ‘forest bathing’ in nature’s beauty.
