I work with people and couples who are struggling, and walk with them as we find our way through the challenges they face.
I provide Counselling for individuals and couples, and Clinical Supervision for clinicians, including social workers, counsellors, youth workers, residential workers, and anyone working to assist people in their lives.
Research consistently shows that a successful relationship is the most important factor in change, in therapy. I believe I have the ability to create robust and effective relationships with my clients. I have had training in a number of models and these models provide options to meet each clients needs in a unique approach, rather than one size fits all.
I have worked in the area of mental health and well being for all of my adult life. For fifteen years, I worked as a psychiatric nurse in Porirua Hospital, then in 1990 I began working as a counsellor and later as a clinical supervisor. I have worked with people from all walks of life, and a wide range of issues.
I provide supervision for anyone involved in working with people. I have supervised nurses, social workers, youth workers, residential workers, managers, and people in various roles in NGO’s.
I believe supervision is critical in ensuring professional and informed service delivery, alongside developing self awareness and skills.
