I am a counselling psychologist who takes a holistic and contextual approach in working with you. I am passionate about helping you create a rich and meaningful life.
It is my belief that every person has the power within to make the changes they want to see in their lives. It is just that sometimes they need help finding that power.
My goal is to assist you to find your own way to living a rich, full and meaningful life whilst acknowledging that there are going to be times when this is very difficult and times of pain and suffering. I believe therapy can be a little like this also, sometimes it is vibrant, rich and full and at other times charged with uncomfortable feelings, such as sadness, guilt, anxiety, anger, loneliness and helplessness. However, I believe taking the journey side by side as client and therapist can be the key to creating the life you want and helping you move beyond the challenges that you face.
My approach is strengths based and skills focused. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and incorporate Attachment and Schema therapy. Ultimately though I will work with you to create the type of therapy that suits you best.
I am experienced in working with clients who have a history of trauma and abuse and or are having issues with depression, anxiety, worry, posttraumatic stress disorder, phobias, or relationship difficulties.
