I have a particular interest in anxiety, especially social anxiety. Other areas of interest include: grief, trauma, relationship issues, career aspirations/transitions, anxiety disorders (in general) and men’s mental health. I feel at times men get left “behind” in the health system and do not utilise services as well as they could so I’m keen to promote support around men’s mental health and have done academic research in this area.
I work collaboratively with clients to help them decide on the best next steps forward. Through discussion, clarity is provided, as well as tools others have found successful in moving forward. Ultimately though, I feel the client is the “driving force” as to what they want from therapy. I have had my own experience of social anxiety, so I know what it feels like to be in client’s chair, and what it takes to manage mental wellbeing from a personal perspective. This combined with a thorough academic background in psychology, health sciences and counselling provides a robust framework. I enjoy seeing others succeed.
Please note I provide online or phone sessions only.
