Hi, I’m Tineka – a counsellor and coach passionate about walking alongside youth and adults as they navigate life’s challenges. I specialise in helping tweens and teens build confidence, strengthen communication, and develop tools to thrive. I also support adults facing transitions, relationship challenges, and rediscovering their sense of purpose.
As a single mum, I understand the delicate balance of managing life’s responsibilities while striving for growth and well-being. With experience in counselling, coaching, and facilitating youth programs, I take a compassionate, down-to-earth approach that meets you where you are. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply need someone to talk to, I’m here to offer a safe and supportive space.
I believe everyone has the strength to overcome obstacles – sometimes, we just need a little support to uncover it.
What kind of clients do you work with?
I work with tweens, teens, and adults, supporting a range of needs from building confidence and managing anxiety to strengthening relationships and navigating major life transitions.
What is your counselling approach?
I offer a warm, client-cantered approach, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and strength-based techniques. Each session is shaped around your unique needs, focusing on building resilience and practical tools for growth. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported.”
How do I know if you’re the right counsellor for me?
I know how important it is to feel comfortable with your counsellor. I offer a relaxed, no-pressure chat before we begin to make sure we’re the right fit. This gives us a chance to connect, discuss your goals, and ensure you feel at ease moving forward.
How long are the sessions, and how often will we meet?
Sessions typically last about 50 minutes. Some clients prefer weekly sessions, while others schedule less frequently. We can find a rhythm that works best for you.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes! I currently work online, which allows for flexible scheduling to fit around your life and commitments.
I’m nervous about starting counselling – is that normal?
Absolutely – it’s completely normal to feel nervous! I aim to make the process as comfortable and easy as possible. Our first session is simply a chance to get to know each other and explore what you’re looking for in counselling.
